Description
I've been photographing NYPD, highway patrol #15 at a lunch break near the Grand Central station at New York.
The streets of New York have great energy, the flag of United States above the Starbucks branch is blowing in the wind, and great energy is out there.
The background story: on September eleven I had a flying ticket to New York, planning to stay there some days and then continue to Aspen, Colorado. I still have the flying ticket with me today as all flights were on hold on that day.
I havent visited New York since 9/11 but only four years later, when i took this photo of this NYPD unit in one of the most crowded and busy streets of the big apple.
There is always a lot of tension and a high stress while taking photos of the law enforcement guys. They have a great responsibility and take their job seriously.
I took this photo of the policemen and survived. Luckily i was not arrested.
Amazingly, the New York police department located this photo in the internet and asked me to put it at their police station. So there it is, at the NYPD station, highway patrol #15.

Some magnificent work Ron. Please consider posting this on the new 'Law Enforcement' group on FAA. http://fineartamerica.com/groups/1-law-enforcement.html

I like this a lot - but there must be something wrong with my eyes - I see you say there are 9 people - but I think I counted 13! Regardless - love the subject matter and the location - where I have spent a lot of time over many years!

Ron, This is so interesting... Love it! I voted for it in the lastest contest... so I had to come over to your page, and see your other work! This looks so like a painting! I love everything New York~ The signs and images in the background are just FANTASTIC! VFWG+...

Ron - this is a great shot for a lot of reasons, including the subjects - it has a very painting like quality, great perspective, wonderful color!
Ron Shoshani replied:
thank you Steve for your so kind feedback. It was a "catch the moment" photography style, capturing a lot of movement and dynamic in a single scene. I consider it one of my top photos ever. Thanks again, and wishing you a great new year!
